Clifty School
Clifty School was located about two miles from the Eastland School in Clifty, Tennessee in the 13th District. This school was probably located on land deeded to Clifty Consolidated Coal Company March 12, 1909.
One of the first objectives after the Clifty Creek Coal and Coke Company began operating in 1903 was to erect a suitable school building with a lodge room above. In the center was a study room. On each side and to the rear were nice recitation rooms with a music room and library. Clifty School closed in 1936 when the students were transferred to the Eastland School.
